Friends of Bede's World

Would you like to become part of Bede’s World and contribute towards the important work we do? If you’ve got time to spare, why not join us and help us to provide the best service we can to our visitors. It’s a great way to meet new people and spend time in the beautiful surroundings of Bede’s World.

The Friends of Bede's World help to support and develop the work of the Museum. We provide voluntary help in the museum and on the Anglo-Saxon demonstration farm, and aid in the upkeep and maintenance of The Herb Garden.

As well as free entrance to the museum and farm for one year, members receive a quarterly newsletter detailing the forthcoming events and volunteering opportunities.

We work with the museum in hosting events, such as the Bede Lecture Series (lectures that take place at noon on the last Saturday of the winter months), workshops, and concerts as well as hosting a summer trip.

Membership is open to individuals over 18 years old, and families. The costs are:

£12.00 concessions (OAPs, Students and those currently unemployed)
£17.00 for an adult member (Single Adult Membership)
£25.00 for family membership (Two named adults and up to three children)

Newsletters

The Friends of Bede's World newsletter is produced on a quarterly basis, and updates members on past, current and future events that they are participating in. The second newsletter for 2011 can be downloaded here.
