Come for a fun and leisurely day out at Bede’s World - where you’ll learn all about Bede and the Anglo-Saxon way of life in Northumbria.
Find out what life would have been like with a visit to our demonstration farm and meet our wonderful animals including Hilda, our wild boar pig, Bleuy the goat and George the goose as well as all of their friends.
See our replica buildings made of wattle and daub – built with truly original materials and methods using skills that would have been present around 700AD.
Finish your visit by enjoying a cream tea and some delicious homemade food in The Café at Jarrow Hall and don’t forget to treat yourself to a souvenir from our gift shop, where our brand new merchandise means you can take a keepsake of our animals home too!
Our site is very accessible and easy to get around, with on site parking for those that drive as well as local transport links stopping not far from outside the museum.
To find out what you can expect from a visit, please click through the menu on the left hand side to see more about our museum, the farm and our exhibition programme, as well as further visitor information.
If you’re already, or planning to be, a regular visitor, why not take advantage of our Bede’s World Club – become an annual member and come back as many times as you wish within the year.
We look forward to welcoming you soon!
