dotBEDE'S WORLD SATURDAY TALKS
A series of talks about aspects of Bede's Northumbria on the last Saturday of most months at 12.00 noon. Sponsored by the Friends of Bede's World

dotREGULAR FEATURES
Tablet weaving demonstrations are generally available on Mondays and there is a guided tour most Sundays at 2.30.

dotBEDE'S WORLD HERB CLUB
Bede's World Herb Club meets every Thursday morning in the Herb Garden at 10.15am. New members are welcome.

dotYoung Calligrapher's Club

A chance for 8 - 16 year-olds to learn the art of calligraphy with experienced scribes. The Young Calligrapher's branch of the Northumbrian Scribes is a new club which will meet at Bede's World 3 times a year. To find out how to join contact reception. Saturday 8 February Open Day. Come along to try your hand and find out about joining the Young Calligrapher's Club.

Living History group Theod bring alive Anglo-Saxon methods of weaving and dying cloth for clothing, hangings and blankets. Spinning and weaving workshop and talks.

Find out what's growing on the farm. Have a look at the old varieties of vegetables in the vegetable garden and vegetable dyes in the dye-plot. Plant some vegetable dye to take home and grow!

Richard York has an outrageously large collection of replica medieval instruments. Find out how they work, hear the evocative sounds of the Middle Ages, have a go at playing medieval tunes and learn to dance to them. Sing Anglo-Saxon music composed in honour of St Cuthbert, using Anglo-Saxon Chant notation, and discover how Anglo-Saxon notation relates to notation used today. All music will be taught on the day - no previous experience necessary.
Full day workshop led by John Rowlands-Pritchard of Opus Anglicanum.

Changing seasons on Gyrwe
Watch the seasonal changes on the Anglo-Saxon demonstration farm by joining the regular walks Around the Anglo-Saxon farm, to meet the animals and watch crops and vegetables develop, led by Bede's World farm staff, and Wildlife Walks, led by Dorothy Marsh, spotting wild animals and plants.
