VOLUNTEERING AT BEDE'S WORLD

If you have time any to spare and you would like to become involved in the Bede's World project as a volunteer. You may value this as work experience and you may enjoy the chance to meet and work with the rest of our team.

Here is a list of the tasks we have:

CURATORIAL ASSISTANCE
Help with sorting archaeological finds and updating museum records.

GUIDING
Welcoming visitors, giving directions and information, monitoring exhibits, room stewarding and undertaking guided tours.

ANGLO-SAXON CRAFTS
Spinning,weaving, pole-lathe working, peopling the site etc.

ASSISTANCE ON RECEPTION
Providing sickness, holiday and lunch time cover.

ASSISTANCE IN THE GIFT SHOP
Providing sickness, holiday and lunch time cover.

MAINTENANCE OF GROUNDS
Grass, Trees, pathways, borders, weeding, Herb Garden and Monastic Site.

DEVELOPMENT OF THE ANGLO-SAXON FARM
Animal Welfare, trees, crops, general maintenance of fields, fences, and buildings, stream clearance.

EDUCATION
Assistance with school visits.
