Travel to Bede's World
By public transport
GNER, Virgin Cross-Country and Arriva Northern inter-city and regional rail services to Newcastle Central Station.
From Newcastle Central, take the Tyne and Wear Metro Service towards South Shields. Leave the Metro at Jarrow station. Cross the footbridge left (going away from the Metro tracks) towards the bus station. There is a taxi rank immediately at the end of the footbridge. Take a taxi to Bede's World (a ride of less than 5 minutes).
By car
Approach Tyneside from north or south via the A19 and head towards the Tyne Tunnel. Bede's World is close to the entrance to the tunnel on the south side of the river. There are brown road signs around the tunnel entrance which will direct you to Bede's World where there is plenty of parking space.
Accommodation
The conference organisers have negotiated a discount for delegates to this conference at the Fountain Lodge hotel. This is a modern, motel-type place with en-suite rooms and restaurant within 1.5 miles from Bede's World.
The standard rate for occupancy of a double room (no singles) is £55 per night. The bed and breakfast rate for conference delegates for single occupancy of a room is £47.50; for double occupancy, £50. (inclusive of VAT)
