Bede’s World is the perfect choice for hosting your special event – whether it’s a corporate launch or community event, seminar or workshop, wedding or private party, we can help make your event a great success in elegant surroundings.

We have two rooms available with flexibility to suit your exact needs.

The Conference Room, having just been upgraded with improved acoustics, can accommodate 80 seated guests, although a range of layouts can be arranged from banquet to boardroom, to classroom and theatre. Our Conference Room benefits from large screen projection.

Highlighted below are some examples of how you can set the room out to suit your requirments.

Our smaller room, The Oval Room, is ideal for meetings and seminars and comfortably seats 12 in a boardroom style layout.

Or perhaps you’re looking for that quirky environment to communicate a particular message to your guests? Why not venture outside onto our farm and host your event in Thirlings Hall, our Anglo-Saxon experimentally reconstructed building with its timber frame and wattle and daub walls sure to give a great atmosphere! Similarly, have the use of our farm for an evening event – or contact us to discuss your any ideas that may have emerged during a visit!

We can provide delicious homemade catering - refreshments, buffet-style catering and receptions with cheese and wine being our forte, but please feel free to get in touch and we will create a bespoke package tailored to your needs, at a reasonable price too. Our Anglo-Saxon themed food’s sure to please your guests!

Should you need more space than what our conference room can provide, we can set up a greetings reception desk for when your guests arrive, can provide our temporary exhibition space as a refreshment area so to allow for more space in the conference room, and can also allow your stands, stalls or pods to be located in our main museum corridor, right outside the conference room.
