“Evan Angelina” Charity Crypto Scam: What You Need to Know
- PublishedApril 22, 2026
A scam circulating online under the name “Evan Angelina” is targeting individuals with promises of financial help through an alleged American charity. The approach is simple, but highly deceptive — and unfortunately, effective.
Victims are typically contacted via social media or messaging platforms and told they are eligible to receive money. The scammer claims to represent a charity or personal fund designed to help people in need. However, before any funds are “released,” the victim is asked to send a small upfront payment. This is usually described as a processing fee, verification cost, or transfer charge.
Once payment is made, the scam escalates.
The scammer then produces convincing-looking screenshots of cryptocurrency transactions, suggesting that a much larger sum has been sent. These images are entirely fabricated. No real transaction exists, and no funds are ever received by the victim.
At this point, additional excuses often follow — delays, further fees, or technical issues — all designed to extract more money.
This scam uses a combination of urgency, generosity, and fake proof to manipulate trust. The use of cryptocurrency makes it harder to trace or recover funds, which is why it is commonly used in fraud schemes like this.
Key warning signs include:
- Requests for upfront payments to receive money
- Claims of charity-based giveaways with no verification
- Screenshots instead of verifiable transaction links
- Pressure to act quickly
If you encounter “Evan Angelina” or similar profiles, do not engage, do not send money, and report the account immediately.
No legitimate charity will ever ask you to pay money to receive financial help.
